Coaching Experience, Skating Background and Additional Training
I have been coaching since 2016 and work with skaters of all levels. I grew up training at Skate Oakville since the age of three and competed competitively in three disciplines, including singles, ice dance and synchronized skating. I am a quadruple Gold Medalist and have completed my Diamond Dances. In addition to my skating experience, I have extensive classical dance training that informs my coaching approach and hold several vocational certifications through the ISTD.
Coaching Philosophy
I believe in developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the ice. I strive to be a positive role model and to create an environment where skaters feel welcomed, encouraged and challenged to achieve their personal potential, develop a love for the sport, and build valuable life skills.
Additional Information
I am a Section-level Technical Specialist in singles and pairs, as well as a Section-level Technical Controller in singles skating. My officiating experience provides me with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the technical standards and judging system, which I incorporate into my coaching.
