CanSkate lessons are given in a group format by coaches who are specially trained and certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) assisted by trained program assistants.  Even though the skaters learn in groups, they progress at their own rate through the five stages.  The five stages cover a complete series of balance, control and agility skating that pertain to hockey, speed skating and figure skating as well as general recreational skating.
